A little bit about me and how this came about...

There are many things I really love and among them is history.

Being a fully imported product of Italy, I have a passion for early Australian history, late British history, Roman history, Egyptian ... well, anything older than 100 years (I'm almost history myself!). 

I also have a passion for writing and from that passion rose a story that I first wrote as a TV series - 1905. From there and knowing that my TV series would be way too expensive to be produced, I re-wrote it as a manuscript for a novel. But even then, the story was far too big for one volume.

Set across colonial Australia and Edwardian England, Cut on the Bias is a sweeping historical crime novel driven by love, vengeance and survival. Told through the eyes of Rebecca Davies—a woman who has fled justice, endured violence, and defied convention—it is the story of a personal crusade for moral justice in a world that silences women and protects the powerful. 

Diligently researched to authenticate the story, Rebecca is part of history but does not change it.

The first novel of the Memoir of a Bastard Child of the Empire series is titled Cut on the Bias; the second Along the Weft and the third, The Broken Loom - but none has anything to do with weaving 😁.
​These stories follow the life of an Australian bastard colonist from 1874 to 1906 and the violent events that led from innocence to murder and ultimate redemption told in 1905 and 1906 and intertwine a series of events from 1874, 1885 and 1890 told in flashbacks.​
